Madiba dreamed.... and we in India dreamed with him: Pranab Mukherjee

Nelson Mandela was the last of the giants who led the world's struggle against colonialism. His life was a saga of human strength and courage in the face of brute force and gross injustice.
Madiba, as he was fondly called, epitomized the South African struggle against apartheid and perhaps no other late 20th century figure defines a nation and a cause quite as profoundly as him. This transformative movement, and its goal of building a non-racial society, is in itself a remarkable human story. But it takes on the quality of legend because of the largely non-violent project to construct a just, equitable and non-racial society upon the debris of a system that was a byword for racism and oppression.
