The world, the old seafarers, like Columbus, discovered, was much larger, than they had thought and prepared for.

This was caused, by the maps, they based there journeys on. Those maps came from the East (Constantinople) and were of Arabic origin. These cartographers drew their maps according to the “Arabic mile”, who was much longer, than the mile Columbus had in mind.

We like to think that this planet is experiencing a spiritual evolution but there are no signs of it. We're still trying to invade one another's minds and we're still trying to tell each other what to do and what to think. Can we, as humanity, get our act together fast enough to be able to change our collective demeanor fast enough.
But even when Buddha, Jesus and Muhammad came, they couldn't change the minds of the people. It is a big challenge because it is very comforting to remain in the same narrative. It is very safe not to challenge the status quo around you. Human beings have within them the capacity both to make peace and to make war. Is it possible to find a solution to the conflicts?

   Composer Jim Wilson claims he recorded crickets making their normal, cricket-y sounds and found that for some reason, after slowing down the recording, it sounds like a human chorus. He calls the recording "God's Chorus Of Crickets."
   Though Wilson claims his masterpiece is made solely from a chorus of the cricket variety, others have tried to replicate the sound to no avail, unable to replicate the major scale that Wilson achieves. Millions of people in the United States and Canada alone, believe that they have been abducted by alien beings, who take them on their spaceship and perform all kind of horrific medical experiments. LONDEN- In het Engelse Ilford ligt een dierenkerkhof waar twaalf helden uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog liggen begraven. Het kerkhof is opgeknapt en kreeg een herdenkingtuin, die onlangs officieel is geopend.
Ricky was een  klein maar dapper hondje. De welsh collie werd tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog naar Nederland gestuurd om mijnen op te sporen langs de Zuid-Willemsvaart in het Limburgse Nederweert. Een van de mijnen kwam tot ontploffing en verwondde Ricky aan zijn kop. De onverschrokken viervoeter bleef echter doorwerken, in het belang van de mensheid. Op 29 maart 1947 kreeg hij een militaire onderscheiding: de Dickin-medaille, het Victoria Kruis voor dieren.

Van de 62 uitgereikte Dickin-medailles gingen er 32 naar duiven, omdat die talloze gestrande of gewonde soldaten hebben geholpen door hun coördinaten door te geven aan militaire posten. Britse postduivenhouders hadden in de oorlog na een oproep zo'n dertigduizend duiven beschikbaar gesteld voor het leger. (bron: LC)
